The Celebrity Big Brother star has been given a private room in the CBB house, away from the other famous faces, as she is living with stage four terminal cancer

This Big Brother star is getting their own room due to palliative care

Celebrity Big Brother contestant Trisha Goddard has been granted her own private bedroom, separate from the rest of the housemates. The 67 year old TV personality made her entrance into the famous abode during the live launch last night, joining a stellar cast of celebs. Revealed in her introductory video, Trisha is courageously living with stage four terminal cancer and is committed to seizing every day and living life to its fullest.

To accommodate her needs, the show’s producers have provided Trisha with a private room, echoing the arrangement made for Sharon Osbourne, 72, in the previous year. An insider informed The Sun: “Trisha has been given her own space in the house to ensure she can rest when necessary.”

The production team has worked closely with her doctors to ensure she has everything she needs during her time in there. “It’s a sensitive situation, and this setup allows her to manage her health while still being part of the show.”

Meanwhile, the other twelve contestants will be sharing the main bedroom, where they’ll have to cosy up in a limited number of double beds. The Mirror have reached out to ITV for comment.

In a conversation with The Mirror before entering the show, Trisha discussed how her oncologist is collaborating with the Big Brother crew.

“My palliative care team – and when I say that word everybody screams and runs away, but it’s symptom treatment – is working with the team here too. And then when it comes to my treatment, I had one infusion on Monday, so I’ve got to jump on a plane and go straight back to have the next one as soon as the show is over.

“I’ve got a bag full of meds that I normally have which will be with me in the house. So my oncologist has planned my treatment around the production schedule.”

Trisha is renowned for hosting daytime chat shows, including her eponymous morning talk show which aired from 1998 to 2010. Trisha was initially diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008 and subsequently received the all-clear. However, in 2022, she disclosed that the cancer had returned as stage 4 breast cancer. When Trisha announced the news, she stated that this time it was “not going away”. As she entered the CBB house last night, emotional fans swiftly took to social media to comment.

One person posted on X: “It’s so brave of her to go in given her prognosis and to share that with the nation. ” Another commented: “Wow what a brave woman Trisha is. Hats off to her.” And a third added: “All love to Trisha Goddard. Literally losing her life and taking all opportunities coming to her to live her life and have all the experiences she can.”

In December 2024, Trisha bravely shared details about her cancer treatment and its effects on her life. Having undergone chemotherapy the previous year, she kept her followers in the loop with regular updates. By the year’s end, after completing her chemo sessions, Trisha took to social media to share pictures of herself taking a walk, embracing “movement as medicine”. She candidly discussed the harsh side effects of her treatment, revealing her decision to forgo certain anti-nausea drugs due to their exacerbation of her constipation issues.

Trisha penned: “My first walk after my chemo/hormone treatment is always tough…. I’ve chosen to have minimal anti-nausea medication because it makes my already bad medically-induced constipation even worse….Even though it’s being treated. But I’ve found that what all the research shows is true: a brisk walk in the fresh air helps, but bloody hell – not gonna lie: it’s damned hard.”

“Don’t wanna leave a trail of puke on the boardwalk, innit? Experience has taught me that the more meds you take – the more side-effects, so whenever safe and possible, with my Dr’s help, I do whatever I can for myself to handle my symptoms.”
