CEO made honorary fellow of University of Oxford college

Charles Skinner, the CEO of data management company Restore plc, was inducted as an honorary fellow of Oriel College on February 2.
This was in recognition of his years of service to the college as a member of the Finance and Estates Committee, and former chair of the Investment Advisory Committee.
Mr Skinner also sat on employment panels and provided financial advice for the college.
The provost described Mr Skinner as a ‘great friend to Oriel.’
He said he was ‘very grateful’ for Mr Skinner’s contributions to the college, which began when he was elected president of the Junior Common Room in 1979.
The provost was Mr Skinner’s contemporary at Oriel and recalled him as a student, saying: “He loved Classics and still enjoys a Horatian ode.
“He also found time for deep equine sporting analysis and the study of the complex mathematics of gambling.”
Mr Skinner said: “The same as other alumni, I loved my time at Oriel and it shaped my outlook on life.
“I have been lucky over the past 17 years to have been involved in various ways.
“Oriel is a wonderful community and I feel deeply honoured to be an Honorary Fellow.”
Mr Skinner attended a dinner alongside three other heads of house from Oxford colleges and other distinguished guests.
