Sarah Jessica Parker Reveals The Bummer Reason She Missed The Met Gala

Unfortunately, the fashion darling revealed ahead of time that she would have to miss the exclusive event ― which is always held on the first Monday in May ― due to other commitments.

“There’s gonna be so much to see,” the Emmy winner added. “I look forward to seeing what everybody does, and how they interpret the theme and the sort of homework they did for the assignment. A very joyful assignment.”

Sarah Jessica wasn’t the only notable absence at the Met Gala, which this year centered on the theme Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, with a focus on menswear.

“Unfortunately because of my knee injury I sustained at the end of the season I won’t be able to attend the Met Gala in NY tonight as so many people have been asking and congratulating me on!” James wrote on Monday.

The Met Gala had five co-chairs this year: actor Colman Domingo, musician A$AP Rocky, producer Pharrell Williams, Formula One racing superstar Lewis Hamilton and Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour.
